Our Window Tinting Process

At Window Film Kansas City, we hold uncompromising standards for the quality of our products and services. That’s why ever since the first day we started in 2008, we’ve been perfecting our installation process. Our practiced methods provide pristine results for window tinting in Kansas City, and generally follow the process below:

Step One:

We begin by offering you an onsite consultation. We do this to conduct some preliminary work and create a plan for your project. This usually includes a detailed inspection of your building and windows, site measurements, and a discussion of the outcome you hope to achieve by installing window film. Once a plan is in place, we will schedule an appointment to install your new window film.

Step Two:

Next, we install your new film. Before arriving on site, we precut all of the window film to cut down installation time and reduce product waste. Then we wash the windows until they’re sparkling clean so that the film will adhere properly. Next, we apply C-Bond to all the glass as a priming method and install the film.

Step Three:

Your window film is nearly finished at this point. All that we have left to do is squeegee out the C-Bond adhesive and tidy up the glass.** Then we double check the windows to make sure that there’s no flaws or defects in the film or glass. All that’s left to do is wait 24-72 hours for the film to be completed adhered and your project is finished!**

**Please note, for projects that are not applied with C-Bond, it may take up to four weeks for the film to achieve full clarity and adhesion. In certain cases that involve well-shaded areas or interior rooms that lack sunlight, there can be adhesion problems when C-Bond is not used for the installation.
*This step does not apply to projects that do not involve C-Bond primer.

Why We Use C-Bond

We use C-Bond to install window film for many reasons, but the most important is that we believe it creates the best experience for our clients. In the past, soap and water were used to prime glass prior to film installation. But this method does nothing to enhance the structure of the glass or film. C-Bond works by altering the molecular makeup of glass and window film products for increased strength and resistance. It’s proven to be so effective that it has the ability to:

  • Increase glass strength by at least 100%
  • Decreases the chance of cracking from thermal expansion
  • Protects glass against hail, golf balls, and lawn mower rocks
  • Reduces the drying time for window film products
  • Improves window clarity during the installation period

Interested in C-Bond Systems?

C-Bond Systems have been scientifically proven to be able to enhance glass strength and resistance to impact. That’s why we use C-Bond I for nearly every window film installation that we perform at Window Film Kansas City. For individuals who are interested in ballistic protection, we also offer C-Bond II, which is a highly durable defense system of adhesive and multiple window film layers.
